Nail polish Excuses
My chipped nailpolish
More often than not.
Never enough time or effort
To have my hands handsome and stylish
Today an unsightly maroon
They remind me
You will be here soon
A tinge of guilt of never being ready
Perhaps you are away
far too long, to build my routine.
An unfair argument one may say
Even when together, even when I try
My nailpolish scratches even before it gets dry
It didn’t matter then,
Does it matter now, this little imperfection
Never figured out this elegant quest
Which colour looked prettiest
Which shade made them dainty, tried and tested
Why paint a dead tissue bright
Why worry when my nails feel not a slight.
My hands touch, seek and hold.
The hand that holds me
All of me, imperfect and perfect
All that matters is untold.
As for now, present is perfect.

New Year Musings
There is a little less of me
To begin this year with
A little more with you
My wish to make up the year with.
A little more time together
A little less apart, a little less severe.
More travels with you to discover and explore
Than to you or away from you as a visitor.
More time to savour tea and time
A few more sunsets and a sunrise sublime.
I like my Darjeeling brewed a little light
You like it brewed a little strong
Together we make it just right.
Dont tell me, I know I know
The year will come with its fine print
I will go buy my reading glasses and not squint.
I will embrace the year and my age
Read a little more. And not act my age.
